Partnership Placements and Programmes

Greys Education Centre is commissioned by the Local Authority to provide partnership placements and in-school programmes for Bedford Borough schools for pupils aged 5-16. Partnership placements incur no costs and are designed to provide alternative packages of support for vulnerable pupils at risk of exclusion.

Partnership placements are tailored and personalised to meet the needs of your pupils and take place at Greys Education Centre.

We will work on an agreed focus with the intention of reducing the risk of exclusion on return to your school and improving levels of engagement.  Representatives from your schools negotiate with the relevant Early Help professional to discuss what the placement should look like and with an agreed end date (where appropriate) and focus for pupil whilst in placement.

Partnership Programmes - Outreach in your schools

Greys also offers schools outreach support.  Greys employ a dedicated and small team of teachers and support staff working in outreach in all Bedford Borough schools, supporting individual pupils whilst they remain at their home school, attempting to stabilise their school placement and avoid a PEX whilst ensuring they stay in school.  The nature and focus of the outreach support is determined by professionals referring, worked out in liaison with the outreach teacher.

All requests for outreach support at your school should be submitted via an Early Help assessment following discussion with parent and child.

All referrals for partnership placements and outreach support should be made through an Early Help Assessment (EHA).  Once completed, please return to Early Help and the request will be considered.
