Greys Education Centre is commissioned by the Local Authority to provide partnership placements and in-school programmes for Bedford Borough schools for pupils aged 5-16. Partnership placements incur no costs and are designed to provide alternative packages of support for vulnerable pupils at risk of exclusion.

Partnership placements are tailored and personalised to meet the needs of pupils and take place at Greys Education Centre and the referring school. Placements usually last six weeks, and a thorough placement report including observations and recommendations is produced once the placement ends.

All requests for Partnership Placements or Outreach Support should be submitted via an Early Help assessment (or via TAF – Team Around the Family – meeting) following discussion with staff, parent/carers, and pupil. Primary and Secondary schools work together with Greys to allocate places on a basis of need and availability to prevent permanent exclusions.
